The vision of St. John Chrysostom on St. Paul has been discussed in many studies, especially in the author’s comments on patristic exegetical work. However, these studies fail in part to outline portrait „Apostle o fthe Gentiles”, as long as there are no specific reference to the seven sermons praising dedicated to St. Paul. How is seen, however, the Apostle Paul in the first two words praising? First, Paul is seen as a „crown” of all virtues and is always compared with some characters of the Old Testament (Abel, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Job, Moses, David, Elijah and John the Baptist). Second encomion emphasizes the reality that, through his life and work, Paul indicated which is the level at which human nature can reach, if really wants.
