Mitropolitul Visarion Puiu – apărător al creștinătății

Bolshevik Communism is responsible for the persecution of Christians in the USSR. On September 14, 1939, Metropolitan Visarion Puiu sends a public letter to Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin. In it he makes a plea for respecting religious freedom. Metropolitan Visarion Puiu does not act as a public accuser of communism, but assumes the role of a mediator, with all the consequences of this act of extreme courage. With parental love, the Metropolitan tries to persuade Dictator Stalin of the need for religious freedom. He argues that Christianity is a factor of stability and progress for Soviet society. He suggests the coexistence between Christianity and communism by embracing Christian values. The letter represents an appeal to peace, love and tolerance from the Metropolitan Visarion Puiu to the atheist communists.
