This study wants to highlight the report and footnotes value of Romanian collection, called Phylocalia. Starting from the life and work of father Staniloae, this study centers around the relation between footnotes and phylocalical text. Τhe Romanian Phylokalia’s footnotes talk about the work life of one man: father Staniloae. We do not know how many would even dare such a thing and more than that and we do not know how many would be able to transmit as much as Father Dumitru Staniloae sent to us. The Romanian Phylokalia cannot be seen outside of her footnotes as footnotes could not have life without patristic text itself. The perfect combination of the two parties can show us how to think and make a book... not like an art for art, but as a concrete manifestation of the creative act and synthesizer.
