This paper is dedicated to the personality of the second patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church. His life and his activity as the Metropolitan of Iassy is very well known. After a short introduction to the life of patriarch Nicodim, the paper gets out to the light a very interesting writing about the first visit he took to Moldavia as the patriarch of Romania. This paper is important because it describes his actions seen through the eyes of his contemporaries. In this way we can look at the patriarch Nicodim and see a humble person, connected to his native places and with the life of the Church, which he intended to help it through different means, including money.
